boomerang

when i was a kid.
They gave me a boomerang.
plastic and day-glo green.
a reward of some sort i suppose.
dont really know,i never payed much
attention to those details.

anyways.

it was an utter aerodynamic failure.
or maybe i just threw the shit wrong.
either way.
damned thing never came back.
only had one chance to show itself what it was made of
and it failed miserably.
settled upon my neighbors rooftop
for years it was there
perched.
day-glo green fading in the california sun.
sitting there.

taunting me.
mocking me.

pathetic!

useless!

and then it was gone...
